My Story
Derrick B. Lockwood is a native of North Georgia and was raised in the inner city of Atlanta. He attended Troy State University, earning his undergraduate degree with a major in History and a minor in Religious studies. He later received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Troy State University.

As an educator for the past 34 years, Rev. Lockwood has served in various youth and mentoring capacities in the Atlanta community. During the 2000 school year, he was one of four individuals selected in a national search to participate as a Fisher Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley. He completed the internship program serving in both California and New York. He has served as s Assistant Principal of Charles R. Drew Charter School, Dean of Atlanta Youth Academy: a Pre k thru 8th-grade Christ-centered college preparatory school devoted to low-income families in the Atlanta area. His students have earned over 4.7 million dollars in scholarship and financial aid awards. He formerly served as Head of School for New City Christian School in Asheville, NC. He has served on various Boards of Directors, such as KIPP: Achieve Preparatory Academy, The Andre P. Stewart Center, and the Odyssey Board of Advisors at The Westminster Schools of Atlanta. He also served as a National Program Committee Board member of A Better Chance. A national organization that identifies talented students of color and helps transforms their lives through education.
Rev. Lockwood has been an active member of the Leadership of Atlanta (2009) and the Leadership of DeKalb (2003).

Rev. Lockwood is the founder and president of Connecting Local Resources with Global Needs, a non-profit ministry specializing in leveraging local resources to meet global needs. He is also the founder and president of Derrick B. Lockwood Ministries, where he is committed to seeing souls won to Jesus Christ. A primary emphasis of his ministry is “binding up the brokenhearted and setting the captive free” through preaching, teaching, and the prophetic word of God. He has ministered throughout Africa, the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada.

In August 2017, Rev. Lockwood became the Senior Pastor of Powerful Truth Sanctuary Global International Church in Macon, Georgia.

He is married to the former Crystal Earlinda Credle. They have two children, Andrea and Isaiah.
